Mempal boot error 'file save error !'

I tried to update the my mempal firmware and am getting a file save error when I try to boot. Is the sd card bad?

Have you tried reformatting the SD card @klenkstar?

Yea I tried reformatting and no good. I’ll try a different card next. :crossed_fingers:t2:

A new sd card did the trick!

I am having the same file save error issue with the Memory Palace, Mempal disk. I unseated the SD card and read it on my computer. Putting it back in the module fires up but the GUI is black. Is this because of the disk being stuck on firmware update cycle? If getting a new SD card is the solution what type of microSD is recommended?

Rather than getting a new SD card, I recommend formatting the one you have (and using CleanMyDrive to remove the hidden files, if you are using a Mac), adding the BOOT.BIN file of the most current firmware, and powering on the module while holding down the “Boot from SD” button on the back. Once the menu comes up, select update firmware. Once the firmware has been successfully updated, power cycle the module.
If you do decide to get a new card, be sure to follow that same procedure.
