Has anyone made a Mouser cart for this?
Or at least collated the BOM in a spreadsheet?
I’m being a bit lazy, but hoping to skip a few steps of admin and get straight to the buying and building
Thanks in advance!

I recently found out that the transistors for the noise generation can differ quite a lot (visually)
My first 10 builds were all good, but then one had more negative offset (as I posted above)
The visual result is less dense noise when the pots are set CW, or too low gain (see above post for the fix)
So if you want to be certain that it makes good noise, buy a few extra 2n3904 / 2n2222 transistors to test out.
You can also install female headers to swap out the transistors.
lol random transistor is random
thanks for the info update - I put mine together wrong (incorrect transistor), have since socketed both, but it’s still not working (the LM’s are fine, there’s power getting up to them, but turning the trimmers got me no where), so I’ll have a look at R34 and R37.
Hope i can get it fixed as I don’t usually have problems :-/
PM me if you can’t get it to work.
but do you have a scope?
then you can check the output at the pin 1 of U1 and U2. you should see noise there.
the trimmers should be turned at almost CW (the kit has 24 turn trimpots, so keep up turning)
just sent a pm…
The buildguide is finally done!
Build guide looks awesome, thanks so much.
SNOW standalone test
I just tested SNOW directly on a CRT monitor with a monojack to RCA converter plug.
It works good. the snow image looks more fuzzy (which is actually very pretty)
a few remarks:
-the offset potmeters only do something when you use the comparator output (I think the offset is cut from the signal at the CRT input?)
-the comparator output does not go fully white (snowstorm) so you might have to change some capacitor & resistor values
The comparator output has some difference . it can go from dots to lines at some settings.
at extreme settings the lines get a harsher look.
so those are new features!
