I don’t have a Facebook account and think that a thread should be made here where people can offer up their modules for sale. God knows I’m looking for EVERYTHING.

What I really want to buy (please sell to me): Visual Cortex, Curtain, Shapechanger, Color Chords, Cadet II and a reasonably priced Memory Palace.

I’m READY TO BUY SO PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ANYTHING YOU’RE SELLING.

Hi folx, I’m still lacking a Visual Cortex. LZX Community member @devingreenwood tells me all the trades happen on Discord now. Why are we siphoning our community away from the LZX forum to yet another centralized platform?

I don’t think there’s a lot of trading going on there (on Discord) but ya, it does look like more than here if it’s sales not from some of the DIY manufacturers.
I like the format of the site here but somehow the Discord layout is really good, it’s designed to promote more proactive interaction. The General channel changes topic from day to day or week to week, the Mainbow DIY kits was an active theme up until a few days ago because of an incorrect cap value.

this post is off-topic. should I delete it or is it best to start another thread? -benton

I avoid centralized platforms because they absorb and destroy communities. We saw that with Facebook years ago—upon moving our followers to FB, Zuckerberg algorithmically eliminated our engagement in a bid to force us to pay for the value we brought to the platform.

According to the Forbes article, users like Discord because they aren’t throttling engagement via algorithms. That will change as the VC investors demand a return.

Also, the alt-right history of the platform makes it off limits for me:

“It was founded in 2015 to make it easier for gamers to talk while playing video games and gained notoriety as a home for the Alt-Right two years later when white supremacists used it to orchestrate that summer’s Charlottesville protests. Caught largely unaware, Discord only worked to expel the racist groups after the protests ended with 34 people injured and a woman dead, mowed down by a car

Do you consider Twitter to be a centralized platform? It seems to be popular with extremists of all types.

Or more to your point, there seems to be a history of alt-right organizations in particular utilizing Twitter. Assuming you have made amends with this and find utility in the tool beyond its less savory use cases, then perhaps you might consider that Discord is simply another avenue for us amateurs and enthusiasts to communicate and enjoy the community.

Oh & bump for anyone holding a TVFKG! I have multiple visual cortexes, color chords, marble indexes, etc. for trade!

True that, @emooh! Ultimately, I am trying to quit all social media. Not easy…

I have a prototype TVFKG up for trade. I’ll DM you.
EDIT: The jacks are acting funky, as happens with these first gen LZX prototypes. The TVKFG is currently unavailable until I finish cleaning and testing.

From the wikipedia article you linked:
" In a study by Gabriel Weimann from the University of Haifa, Weimann found that nearly 90% of organized terrorism activities on the internet takes place via social media.[10] According to Weimann, terror groups use social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and internet forums to spread their messages, recruit members and gather intelligence.[10]

Terror groups take to social media because social media tools are cheap and accessible, facilitate quick, broad dissemination of messages, and allow for unfettered communication with an audience without the filter or “selectivity” of mainstream news outlets.[11] Also, social media platforms allow terror groups to engage with their networks. Whereas previously terror groups would release messages via intermediaries, social media platforms allow terror groups to release messages directly to their intended audience and converse with their audience in real time:[12] Weimann also mentions in “Theater of Terror”, that terrorists use the media to promote the theatrical like nature of the premeditated terror."

I’m on the fence about Twitter. I’m happy that they’ve been taking action against terrorist groups in the wake of 1/6/21. It’s hard to quit these platforms.

I hope ye guys can strike a fair trade :+1:t3:

I think it’s good to see some some debate on important issues that are important to our community and more so, to millions of people across this planet.

Anyone looking for a VisibleSignals RGB Matrix Mixer with the Direct In expander, Dual Distrib (2x 1 RCA input & 3 RCA outputs) or a Video Mult? I have each of them in both white and blue panels with a selection of knobs for the mixer.

I’m in Berlin, Europe & can ship internationally.

I got my Visual Cortex! Thanks to the sharp eyes of @sean and @saiteron !

At this point, I have a pretty good set of modules. I’m going to spend the summer playing with what I have, so at this point my only offer up for trade is a Navigator, in case anyone has another Visual Cortex to trade? I’d also consider Color Chords, Octal Quantizer, or Marble Index.

Thanks to all who traded with me, and the good folx in this community!

cheers, Benton
