Re: External interfaces. OK, I get what you mean better now. I added something to that effect. This is of course one of the major tenets of the format itself; that any outgoing conversion interface conditions any input signals to be “safe” and within expectations of standards for correct, non-glitchy operation of the recipient device. (Goes back to design goal #3, maximum patchability for creative freedom.)
