Creating visuals with a Vectorscope and Waveform monitor

hi there, forgive my ignorance. im a beginner

I was wondering how I could use LZX tools to take an audio signal and then create interesting visuals on a Vectorscope and Waveform monitor. what modules would I need to do this?

heres the unit I wanna buy on Ebay: Leader LBO-5860A Waveform Monitor & LVS-5850B NTSC Vectorscope With Rack Mount | eBay

thank you in advance

You can’t. Waveform monitor, vectorscope and vector monitor are all three different things.

Waveform monitor and vectorscope (pictured) are two types of test equipment highly specialized for analyzing video signals. They cannot be used for oscillographics or scan processing. WFM is (mostly) for the black and white part of the image, vectorscope is for analyzing color only.

What you want is a vector monitor, a general purpose display designed for visualizing a wide range of analog signals.

XYZ oscilloscopes will also do the job.

Here is a spreadsheet I made that lists some of the options available.

As far as modules required, you can do basic scan processing with just ramps and mixers. More advanced applications require more modules. But some of the ones that are most useful include TBC2, Angles, Factors, DWO3, SMX3, Proc, and VH.S Crossfade.

Chromagnon is the all-in-one solution.
