Both statements are correct, but we’re talking about electrical standards/requirements here – not system usage. While any genlock input/sync input module should be able to sync to any valid NTSC/PAL video source, that does not imply this is the intended use case (to patch a camera directly to a module’s rear for synchronization purposes.)
